Born with a paintbrush in her hand and with visions set on high, Ambre Anderson was prepared to take the world by storm.  Bold as her palette choices and intense as her subject matter, this multi-faceted Renaissance woman has done it all including modeling, art directing her nursery school’s art projects and creating her now famous “Obama” t-shirts at the Democratic National Convention.  Armed with a B.F.A. from Howard University’s School of Fine Arts, a growing list of clientele and a portfolio to make her predecessors proud, Anderson has proven that humility and determination wins the race every time.

Ever since meeting artist Ambre(Am-ber) Anderson at her September 22 showing at Opus 22, I felt this incredible surge of energy as if I have met her before through her works. The works convey a hybrid of a Black Master painter meets Neo-Surrealist theme with usage of lush, vibrant colors and references of Black Power and Black Love. Listed below is Ambre's biography so you can get to know this sister on an artistic level.

A good friend of mine is doing it really big right now with hand painted Obama tees. Not your ordinary print off the press make'em every 5 minutes on demand, these tees are hand painted one-by-one by artist/model Ambre Anderson. The shirts are so hot that Ambre has received the Woman of Distinction Legacy Award and is featured on UptownLife.net. She traveled to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver and sold shirts she's selling them online @ ArtworbyAmbre.com they're popping up all over the place. This is a historical moment and we all know what history and paintings have to do with one another. Cop one and remember the times! The damage is only $25! "Yes we can!"
